Andrea Carrillo is a freshly graduated illustrator from the Kansas City Art Institute, living in Bentonville, AR. With a passion for storytelling, her artwork can be (but is not limited to) still images, sequential work, and character or concept design. She works in a variety of mediums; and despite clinging to traditional media for years, Andrea now illustrates primarily digitally. Her drawings tend to be story-driven, colorful, and lighthearted. She has worked with multiple brands and organizations, amongst them Walmart, Englewood Arts Center, ArtVentures, and The Coterie Theater.

Like any kid with a TV, Andrea spent a lot of her time growing up watching movies and playing video games, which she now uses as inspiration for her artwork. Originally from Mexico, she first moved to the United States at 14 years old. Adjusting to her new surroundings, she found refuge in both art and art making. Andrea’s love for visual storytelling sparked an aspiration to create it. Her cultural background is something of great importance to her and something she wishes to represent within the illustration industry. Excited to collaborate with fellow creatives, she hopes her work can one day adorn walls, books, and products; enchanting all who encounter them.
